Clidence Contracting LLC

​Sam Clidence, a native of Southern Rhode Island, was immersed in woodworking and 18th-century craftsmanship from a young age. Under the mentorship of his father, G.R. Clidence, Sam honed his skills by creating bespoke, handcrafted furniture and restoring historic pieces, including the renowned Slater Mill and Gilbert Stuart Waterwheels.

As Sam started his own family, he expanded his expertise into traditional construction, specializing in wood roofing and siding. However, his passion for historical renovations and lathe work always remained at the forefront.

Over the years, Sam has also embraced the art of CNC machining, mastering the creation of radius mouldings, corbels, and other intricate projects. Today, he seamlessly blends his extensive experience in renovations, replications, construction, lathe turnings, and CNC work to bring any custom woodworking vision to life.
